Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients in age group 18\-80 years with spontaneous meralgia paresthetica (not related to surgical procedures in the region of the anterior superior iliac spine such as osteotomy for bone grafting, spinal surgeries etc).
  • 2\.Meralgia paresthetica is a clinical diagnosis: Patients have unpleasant paresthesias tingling or burning over the lateral aspect of the upper half to upper 2/3 of the thigh. It may be bilateral in 20% of cases.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Subjects not giving consent
  • Meralgia paresthetica following surgical procedures on the iliac crest or the spine
  • Patients who have previously undergone surgical procedures to relieve pain such as transposition, separation from muscular entrapment etc.
  • Pregnant females
  • Females in reproductive age group, who are not using adequate contraception.
