Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Histologically confirmed non\-recurrent non\-metastatic squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinoma of esophagus or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ).
  • 2\. Patients must be considered as having inoperable/unresectable tumor, considered to be unfit for surgery and/or are unwilling for surgery.
  • 3\. ECOG performance status less than or equal to 2\.
  • 4\. Adequate baseline bone marrow, liver and renal functions as determined by routine standard\-of\-care tests.
  • 5\. Patients being treated using VMAT technique.
  • 6\. Willingness to participate in the study and provides a voluntary informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Metastatic disease at presentation.
  • 2\. History of prior mediastinal/thoracic malignancy or condition that warranted irradiation or chemotherapy.
  • 3\. Patients with tracheoesophageal fistula/bronchoesophageal fistula.
  • 4\. Patients with active second malignancy.
  • 5\. Uncontrolled co\-morbidities that would hamper the patientsâ?? adherence to treatment.
  • 6\. Known contraindications to use of concurrent chemotherapy (E.g.: impaired renal/hematological function, known hypersensitivity, etc.)
