Inclusion Criteria
All intubated cases admitted to PICU or who require intubation during PICU stay
Exclusion Criteria
Tracheostomized cases
Raised ICP
Severe ARDS
Cases with refractory septic shock
Cases requiring re-intubation after one episode of mechanical ventilation
Anticipated intubation <24 hours
Known bleeding disorder
Recent nasal surgery or trauma or burns
Previous history of epistaxis
Chronic lung disease
Congenital heart disease
Nasal and other facial malformation, where nasal intubation is difficult
