Children/adolescents with AD(H)D:
1. AD(H)D diagnosis according to ICD10/DMS-5
2. Children/adolescents aged 8 to 16
3. Written consent
4. Consent of parents/legal guardians
5. Persons who are legally competent and mentally able to follow the instructions of the staff
Healthy controls:
1. Children/adolescents aged 8 to 16
2. Written consent
3. Consent of parents/legal guardians
4. Persons who are legally competent and mentally able to follow the instructions of the staff
Children/adolescents with AD(H)D:
1. IQ < 80
2. Diagnosed autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy or brain-organic damage
3. Persons who are placed in an institution by order of the authorities or the court
4. Persons who are in a dependent or employment relationship with the researcher
Healthy controls:
1. IQ < 80
2. Diagnosed AD(H)D, autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy or brain-organic damage
3. Persons who are placed in an institution by order of the authorities or the court

Name Time Method Primary outcome will be response to MPH (8 weeks after completed dosing with MPH)<br><br>Changes in:<br>- Questionnaires (Conner's Rating Scales for parents, child, teachers; Children's Communication Checklist; Medication Adherence Rating Scale; Barkley Scale; Clinical Global Impression Scale; Line Listing)<br>- Neuropsychological assessments (QbTest; Testbattery for attentional performance)<br>- Language- and voice-related assessments (spontaneous speech; verbal fluency test (Regesburger Wortflüssigkeits-Test); phonological working memory (digit span; WISC-V))<br>- Movement and activity data (JTrack)<br>- MRI; <br><br>Follow up interview with parents by phone after three months
