Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
The study compared the effect of the use of the individual hearing aid, the use of Ginkgo biloba preparation and the association between the hearing aid and the Ginkgo biloba extract, through the application of two questionnaires (Tinnitus Handicap Inventory - THI and Visual Analogue Scale - EVA), seeking an effective alternative to the treatment of tinnitus.;The study demonstrated the efficacy of treatment with the individual hearing aid and/or the association of the Ginkgo biloba extract EGb 761, through the significant improvement in the self-perception of tinnitus noise and its severity, by the analysis of the THI score.
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Mean percentage of variation of the THI score before and after treatment in relation to the tinnitus onset time was also analyzed.;Hearing aids were more effective in patients with shorter time to onset of tinnitus (71.2%). Ginkgo biloba extract alone or in combination with the hearing aid was effective (between 53.0 and 74.5%) regardless of tinnitus duration. This analysis was obtained by the THI score.
