Comparison of letrozole alone with letrozole and HCG on pregnancy rates in PCOS women with anovulatory infertility : A randomised controlled trial

Sample size : 75 divided in two groups

one group was given T. letrozole two and half mg and other was given injection HCG 5000 IU im with T.Letrozole

T. Letrozole was given as two and half mg starting from  day 3 of menses for 5 days and injection HCG was given to other group when follicle diameter reached more thanor equal to 18mm.

Inclusion Criteria

Anovulatory Infertile PCOS women in age group 20 -35 years.

Exclusion Criteria

S.FSH levels > 10 IU/L Other associated causes of female infertilty such as tubal factor or male factor Women with history of ovarian surgery , ovarian tumor , pelvic adhesions or endometriosis.

Proportion of women with positive urinary pregnancy test in each group when they are overdue by 1 week from expected date of menseswhen they are overdue by 1 week from expected date of menses
Secondary Outcome Measures

Proportion of women with USG documented live pregnancy in each group after two weeks overdue from expected date of menses.Comparison of mean duration of luteal phase in both groups.
