The present prospective ,randomized,double blind study over 68 adult patients undergoing elective ENT surgeries who require GA ,age between 18 -60 years of either sex.randomized in two groups.Primary aim is to study and compare the effect of IV Magnesium sulphate 20 mg/kg bolus followed by 10mg/kg/hr infusion and IV clonidine 2 ug/kg bolus followed by 0.5ug/kg/hr infusion in attenuating the haemodynamic ressponse to a) laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation ,extubation and recovery. b) anaesthetic consumption during surgery.

Inclusion Criteria
- 1)ASA group 1&2.
- 2)patients posted for eiective ENT surgeries who require GA and airway maintenance with ET intubation.
- 3)prior informed and written consent given by the patients.
- 4)age group between 18 to 60 years of either sex.
Exclusion Criteria
- 1)patients not willing to be part of this study.
- 2)patients who are having known allergy to the study drugs.
- 3)SBP<100mmHg and HR<60/min.
- with history of mysthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy or any other neuromuscular disease.
- with history of epilepsy/seizure disorder.
- who are taking antihypertensive medications.
- 7)pregnant patients.
