- Brief Summary
Patients with schizophrenia have a wide range of deficits in their everyday functioning. Approximately two-thirds of patients who achieve symptomatic remission continue to experience persistent problems with functioning. Disability in schizophrenia affects several aspects of the individual’s personal, social, and occupational functioning. Research in schizophrenia has clearly proved that one of the most disabling factors in this disorder is the psychopathology associated with the disorder and they affect the level of functioning. Focussing on the level of symptoms and analysing the causal relations among them is likely to extend our understanding of psychopathology. This study will provide information on various symptom related variables and can serve to serve to guide interventions and monitoring over time
