Subjects 18 years or older who were able to give informed consent were recruited. Subjects with prior colorectal surgery (apart from appendectomy), colonic stricture, colonic obstructing tumor, severe medical conditions such as severe cardiopulmonary , nephrologic, or psychologic disorder, acute gastrointestinal bleeding or acute surgical conditions such as severe colitis, toxic megacolon, or ischemic colitis were excluded.
