Bank employees in the Netherlands or workers at one of the two universities in Amsterdam, with non-specific upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders, employment on a contract of at least 50% of full-time working hours and sick-leave for over 50% of the contractual hours during a period between 4 and 20 weeks.
Participants ranged between 18 and 65 years and were required to comprehend and have communication skills in Dutch.
