Asymptomatic Achilles tendons:
1. Age 18-62 year;Symptomatic Achilles tendinopathy:
1. Age 18-62 year
2. Achilles tendon pain for at least 2 months
3. Pain on palpation 2-7 cm proximal to Achilles tendon insertion
asymptomatic Achilles tendons:
1. History of Achilles tendon pain
2. History of tendinopathy at another location
3. Appointment in outpatients clinic because of a problem with the lower extremity
4. Familiair hypercholesterolaemia;symptomatic Achilles tendinopathy:
1. Clinical suspicion of an insertional disorder
2. Clinical suspicion of an Achilles tendon rupture
3. Clinical suspicion of tenosynovitis of the plantar flexors
4. Clinical suspicion sural nerve pathology
5. Clinical suspicion of Peroneal subluxation
6. Clinical suspicion of several internal disorders with an inflammatory origin
