- •Subjects taking medications for gastroesophageal reflux symptoms, gastric/duodenal ulcers, or malignant diseases were excluded from the study. Subjects diagnosed as Barrett's esophagus or gastric/esophageal cancer at the time of first endoscopy were also excluded.
