Brief Summary
As flaxseeds is currently readily available and provide a safe, cost effective functional food to combat hypertension, no study was found to observed the impact of flaxseed on blood pressure and total lipid profile in Manipur. Hence, this study aims to investigate the effect of flaxseed on blood pressure and total lipid profile in hypertensive individuals from Manipuri community.

Inclusion Criteria
- •age from 35 to 70
- •both the genders
- •subjects with systolic blood pressure more than or equal to 130 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure more than 80 mmHg with anti hypertensive drugs
- •hypertensive subjects who are willing for the study.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Pregnant women
- •Uncontrolled Hypertension
- •Mental Disorders
- •Sensitivity to flax seed
- •Consuming omega 3 or herbal medicine
- •Renal diseases
- •Impaired blood sugar
- •History of obstructive and inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, gastric ulcers.
Outcomes
Primary Outcomes
Blood Pressure - systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure and pulse pressure
Time Frame: pre intervention before conducting the soon after recruitment of subjects to the respective groups | post-intervention after completing the 90 days of intervention
Secondary Outcomes
- 1. Lipid profile(2. Quality of life Questionnaire)
