•1.Mandibular molar teeth that were diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis [prolonged pain to cold test (Roeko Endo-Frost spray; Coltene Whaladent, Langenau, Germany)] and symptomatic apical periodontitis (percussion pain),
•2.Patients with preoperative spontaneous or percussion pain level equal or above 50 mm on VAS scale,
•3.Patients who have no systemic disease and older than 18 years old,
•4.Teeth with PAI scores 1 and 2 described by Qrstavik et al.

•1.Presence of sinus tract or swelling with associated tooth,
•2.Teeth which havenâ€™t occlusion with the opposite tooth,
•3.The presence of periodontal pockets more than 3 mm in the associated tooth,
•4.Severely damaged teeth,
•5.Teeth with root resorption, root fracture or ankylosis.
•6.Teeth with previous root canal treatment,
•7.Patients who have psychiatric disorders, systemic diseases or allergic reactions,
•8.Pregnant patients,
•9.Patients who were older than 65 years old,
•10.Patients who have parafunctional habits such as bruxism.
