Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\.Open fractures of the tibia where primary closure of the wound is not possible. (Wound size should be between minimum 5cm and maximum 10cm in any dimension)
- •2\.Fractures exposed by the wounds are included in the study.
- •3\.Only acute trauma cases were included in the study.
- •4\.The patient must be giving consent for NPWT or conventional saline dressing.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.Comminuted fracture with more than three fragments are excluded from the study
- •2\.A chronic wound or ulcer
- •3\.Neurological disorders like Charcot arthropathy
- •4\.Systemic disorders like Collagen vascular disease, Malignancy, Immunodeficiency, Haematological Disease, Diabetes Mellitus.
- •5\.Radiotherapy patient.
- •6\.Patient in sepsis
