1)Individuals referred for colonoscopy to the endoscopy unit of IPGME&R & SDLD for evaluation of gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhoea, pain abdomen, fever, weight loss, occult gastrointestinal bleeding between 1st May 2019 to 31st January 2020, an attempt will be made to intubate the terminal ileum in all patients. Those with stable terminal ileal intubation will be evaluated for endoscopic mucosal ulcers.
2) With rest of the colonic mucosa being normal
3)Normal CT/MRI of Abdomen.
1)Known case of IBD(Ulcerative colitis, Crohnâ??s disease)
2)Known case of Intestinal tuberculosis.
3)Colonic or Ileocolonic disease(ulcer/stricture)
4)H/O Colorectal cancer or any previous colonic or intestinal surgery
5)H/O intake of ASPIRIN/NSAID in last 6 months.
6)H/O Radiation for any Intraabdominal or Pelvic malignancy
7)Those with small intestinal or colonic abnormalities on abdominal imaging(CT/MRI)
8)Overt gastrointestinal bleeding
9)Those who did not give consent.
