Diagnosis with migraine according to ICHD criteria
Migraine group in the attack free period
1.Contraindication to magnesium therapy (e.g. renal failure, nephrolithiasis)
2.Pregnancy or planned pregnancy
3.Breast feeding women
4.Menstrual migraine
5.Nonmigraine headache
6.Dependence or abuse of drugs
7.Psychiatric or chronic systemic illness
8.Foreseeablee poor compliance
9.Intake of antidepressants, neuroleptics, minor or major tranquillizers, drugs used for the treatment of affective disorders (e.g. lithium, carbamazepine)
10.Headache prophylaxis (e.g. beta receptor blockers, calcium antagonists) within last 3 months
