Age above 18 years
open liver resection
written informed consent

Exclusion Criteria

ASA class IV-V
relevant bleeding disorder
laparoscopic resection
contraindication for Inhalation anesthesia
psychiatric disorder interfering with study participation
Thrombosis of vena cava or jugular vein confluence
arrhythmia (no Sinus rhythm)
