Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •All genders
- •Age \= 18 years
- •Elective surgery
- •General anesthesia with administration of muscle relaxants
- •Additional criteria depending on the part of the study:
- •Part A (vocal cord opening): intubation
- •Part B (diaphragm): upper abdominal laparotomy
- •Part C (lower leg muscles): knee surgery with tourniquet
Exclusion Criteria
- •Neuromuscular diseases
- •Allergy to muscle relaxants
- •contractures on the fingers
- •pregnancy
- •Additional criteria depending on the part of the study:
- •Part A (vocal cord opening): indication for rapid sequence induction and (expected) difficult airway, hyperkalemia
- •Part C (lower leg muscles): amputation of the big toe on the side to be operated on, polyneuropathy, peripheral arterial disease (\= stage 3\)
- •Patient rejects the study
- •Simultaneous participation in another study
- •Limited ability to provide information and consent, support
