1. Patients who will fulfill ROME IV diagnostic criteria for belching disorders:
a. Diagnostic Criteria for Belching Disorders Must include all the following: Bothersome
(severe enough to impact on usual activities) belching from the esophagus or stomach
more than 3 days a week.
b. Criteria fulfilled for the last 3 months with symptom onset at least 6 months before
diagnosis.
2. Age between 18 and 65 years
3. Patients of either sex including transgender
4. Literate patients, ability to read English, Bengali or Hindi and illiterate people will be
interviewed by the investigators maintaining adequate privacy to fill up the scales or
questionnaires.
5. Willing to take part in the study and give written informed assent and/or consent voluntarily
1. Patient of known case of any disease ofstomach or having any pathological condition causing
belching (e.g.: GERD, Peptic ulcer, Gastritis, Gastroparesis, Dumping syndrome etc.)
2. Patients having any other systemic disease or having any life-threatening illness affecting
quality of life or any other organ.
3. Necessary relevant diagnostic tests will be advised to exclude Patients having any
pathological conditions or organic diseases.
4. Patients who are taking any medicines regularly for these complaints within last 6 weeks.
5. Vulnerable population- Unconscious, ambulatory, too ill for consultation, differently abled,
terminally ill or critically ill patients, institutionalized persons, mentally disabled people.
6. Pregnant and postpartum women, nursing mothers.
7. Patients with the habit of tobacco chewing and/or smoking, alcoholism and/or any other
forms of substance abuse and/or dependence.
8. Self-reported immune-compromised condition.
9. Already been in homoeopathic treatment for any chronic illness for the last 6 months.
10. Simultaneous participation in any other clinical trial.
