- •Jordanian citizenship
- •Arab ethnicity
- •Young adult (aged 18-30 years old)
- •Being overweight or obese
- •Had iron deficiency anemia
排除标准
- •Symptomatic patients with common iron deficiency anemia signs and symptoms
- •Pregnancy or lactation within the past 12 months
- •Self-report for the presence of significant medical conditions
- •Vegetarianism
- •Tobacco smoking
- •Alcohol drinking
- •Had unstable body weight within the past 6 months
- •Irregular menstrual cycle (void of at least one menstrual cycle within the past 12 months)
- •Undergo bariatric surgery
- •Undergo full or partial hysterectomy
- •Donate blood or history of hemorrhage within the past 6 months
- •Consume iron supplementation within the past 6 months
- •Consume any dietary supplementations other than iron within the past 3 months
- •Use of medications that may influence weight, iron, or inflammatory status such as contraceptive medication within the past 3 months
