Inclusion Criteria

1.Pleasing and straight profile.

2.Age group of 17-25 years so that complete growth of soft tissues had taken place.

3.Angles class 1 occlusion with minimum crowding/spacing/ rotations ( <3mm).

4. Well-aligned maxillary and mandibular dental arches.

5.Subjects and their parents who were residents of Uttar Pradesh were only included in the study.

6.No facial asymmetry.

7.Normal growth and development.

8.No significant medical history or history of any trauma.

9.No previous history of orthodontic or prosthodontic treatment and maxillofacial or plastic surgery.

10.Subjects were chosen for inclusion only on the basis of a balance of facial parts, and the quality of parts (i.e. beautiful eyes or skin texture) was disregarded.

The frontal and profile photographs of all subjects were taken with a mirrorless camera (Canon EOS M-50 mirrorless, lens 18 × 25 wide-angle, 24 megapixels). All photographs were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising two experienced orthodontists, surgeons, and general dentists. The panel members were given a profile rating and were asked to rate the subjects on the basis of a five-point scale with a. poor, b. fair, c. good, d. very good, e. excellent. The scores given by the judges for each subject were then added up separately and the mean score was calculated. Only the subjects who had a total score were selected for cephalometric evaluation.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Significant medical history

2. History of trauma

3. Previous orthodontic treatment

4. Maxillofacial or plastic surgery
