Pregnant women ( > 18 years) scheduled to undergo elective caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia.
1. Refusal to consent for the study
2. Inability to read/understand the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) questionnaire in English/ Hindi
3. Parturients with a history of anxiety disorder and/or anxiolytic/psychotropic drug use
4. Those with any surgical or anaesthetic complication intraoperatively (including massive haemorrhage, conversion to general anaesthesia or the need to perform intravenous sedation)
