1) aged between 18-50 years; 2) had been diagnosed of schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th (DSM-IV); 3) received stable agent and dosage regimen of antipsychotics for at least 2 months; 4) had mild to moderate symptoms of schizophrenia which was determined by Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) of 32-54; and 5) had duration of illness after diagnosis of schizophrenia less than 10 years.
Patients were excluded if they had mental retardation, delirium, or had communication impairment which affected the ability to perform cognitive function tests.
