Inclusion Criteria
Resectable malignancy in the lower third of the oesophagus
Able to give informed consent
Inclusion were from January 1st 2013 till June 1st 2015
Exclusion Criteria
Not physically fit for surgery
Not able to consent for surgery
Non-resectable esophageal cancer

Name Time Method ength of stay measured in days and postoperative complications graded according to the Dindo-Clavien grading system. Based on retrospectively collected data.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Perioperative data such as blood loss measured in ml, operating time (measured in minutes) and lymph node harvest (measured by absolute number from the pathology report).<br>All data were extracted retroespectively from patient files
