- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Box and Block Test
By means of the Box and Block Test unilateral gross manual dexterity can be measured.
The individual is instructed to move as many blocks as possible, one at a time, from one compartment of a box to the other. This test is sensitive to test therapy outcome and has a good to excellent reliabilty and validity.
In addition the execution of this test is captured by a camera based movement analysis system (SIMI Motion) and kinematic parameters are analyzed.
The primary outcome is measured 3 times: Before and after the specific study interventions, and after a 2 week follow-up period.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Action-Research-Arm-Test (ARAT) and Stroke Upper Limbs Capacity Scale (SULCS)
By means of the ARAT reach and grasp movements are measured. The ARAT is a 19 item measure divided into 4 sub-tests: grasp, grip, pinch, and gross arm movement.
The SULCS is used to measure arm and hand function. It's a 10 item scale consiting of 3 items for arm function without hand function, 4 items for arm function and basic hand function, and 3 items for complex hand function.
The secundary outcome parameters are testet at the same time points as the primary outcome.
At baseline (before the Intervention phase) the Fugl-Meyer test for the upper extremities and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) are assessed.
