Assessment of acceptance, adaptation, user experience,attitude and perception of an application based index recorder among dental students: An interventional study

The World Health Organization has acknowledged the importance of oral health since inception leading to a long tradition of epidemiological survey methodology and surveillance in oral health. For decades, dental indices has been essential tool in dentistry for assessing oral health conditions. However, the manual calculation of these indices was laborious and prone to errors. Additionally, entering the data into excel sheets was time consuming. Manual indices present challenges due to their time consuming nature, susceptibility to human errors, and subjectivity in interpretation. These shortcomings emphasize the requirement for streamlined digital solutions to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of oral health assessment in dental practice. To address these challenges, we are planning to develop a digital application tailored to assist dental students as well as professionals in conducting thorough oral health assessments. So, this study aims to assess the acceptability, adaptability, user experience, attitude and perception of dental students towards the application- based index recorder
