Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Children in the age group 8â?? 16 years
  • Teeth with Ellis and Daveys Class\- III or IV fracture and with wide open apices
  • Affected tooth/teeth showing no response(s) to pulp sensitivity test i.e. Electric pulp test
  • Root length formation approximately two thirds or more (Nollaâ??s Stage 8, 9\)
  • Adequate bone support
  • No internal/ external root resorption evident radiographically
  • Children and parents ready to comply with treatment protocol, schedule of the study and present themselves at the desired date and time.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Radiographic evidence of vertical or horizontal root fractures, signs of pathologic root resorption, ankylosis (replacement resorption).
  • Teeth exhibiting obvious clinical signs of necrosis i.e. extensive cellulitis or radiographically observed severe periapical infection with a large periapical radiolucency (more than 3mm)
  • Teeth with questionable restorability
  • Children/ parents not ready to comply with the study protocol/schedule.
