Inclusion Criteria

Presence of bilaterally impacted lower third molars with a similar extraction difficulty

Exclusion Criteria

1] Teeth affected by acute infections, such as pericoronitis, an acute alveolar abscess at the time of surgery.

2] Patients on steroid treatments.

3] Patients with conditions in which cortisol secretion is altered (Addisonâ??s disease, Cushingâ??s syndrome, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia).

3] Patients with conditions of decreased or altered secretion of saliva (caused by atropine, calcium channel blockers, antidepressants, antihistamines, Sjogrenâ??s syndrome, and radiotherapy)

4] Patients with systemic diseases.

5] Patients who smoke.

6] Pregnant patients.

7] Patient allergic to penicillin or other drugs used in the standardized postoperative therapy.

8] Patient with chronic alcoholism

Edema - measured using measuring tape method Schultze Mosgau et al - <br/ ><br>S1: from tragus of ear to corner of mouth. <br/ ><br>S2: from tragus of ear to soft tissue pogonion. <br/ ><br>S3: from lateral canthus of eye to the angle of mandible. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>3. Trismus - using a ruler by measuring interincisal distance.Timepoint: 1.Pain - on 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th postoperative day <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>2. Edema - measured at baseline and 1 week postoperatively <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>3. Trismus - measured at baseline and 1 week postoperatively
