Inclusion Criteria for the STC Group: Individuals aged 18-65 years, BMI 18.5 and <25Kg, STC assessed by a physical therapist (strength muscle, range of motion and orthopedic tests) and medical diagnosis and/or electroneuromyography exam; CTS symptoms present for at least six months; absence of shoulder tendinopathy; active range of motion of shoulder flexion and abduction of 120 dregrees, flexion of elbow of 100 degrees, and wrist extension of 30 degrees; and positive results for the Phalen and Tinel tests.
Control Group Inclusion Criteria: Individuals aged 18-65 years; BMI 18.5 and <25Kg, without subjective reports of pain in the cervical spine and upper extremity, absence of tendinopathy or previous treatment in the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand of the dominant upper extremity.
Exclusion Criteria (both groups): Musculoskeletal disorders in the shoulder; history of trauma or previous surgery to the upper extremity or trunk; subluxation of the acromioclavicular or glenohumeral joint; diagnosis of rheumatic, degenerative or neurological disease; partial or complete tear of the rotator cuff or any other shoulder muscles; use of orthoses in the last three months; physiotherapeutic treatment or occupational therapy in the last three months; positive sign for at least two orthopedic tests for shoulder injury (Neer, Hawkins, painful arch 60º-120º, Jobe, Rowe and Speed tests)

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Immediate effects of orthosis on shoulder muscle coordination, analyzed by non-negative matrix factorization;Long-term effects of orthosis on wrist muscle activity, analyzed by normalized Root Mean Square [RMS];Long-term effects of orthosis on kinematic variables, analyzed by Matlab R2012b software
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method ong-term effects of the orthosis on upper limb function and symptoms, obtained using the Dash questionnaire;Long-term effects of orthosis on hand function and symptoms, obtained by the Boston questionnaire;Long-term effects of orthosis on the strength of the pulp-to-pulp and tripod clamps obtained by the Pinch Gauge® dynamometer;Long-term effects of orthosis on pain intensity, obtained by the Numerical Pain Rating Scale;Long-term effects of orthosis on hand symptoms, obtained by the Douleur Neuropathique 4 Questionnaire;Long-term effects of orthosis on hand symptoms, obtained by the Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire
