Inclusion Criteria

•Age (18-65 years)
•For the experimental groups: Presence of one of the three mental disorders (bulimia nervosa, body dysmorphic disorder or illness anxiety disorder), as determined by a standardised diagnostic interview (DIPS) (presence of a comorbid disorder is not an exclusion criterion as long as two of the focal disorders are not present at the same time).
•For the control group: currently no mental disorder (according to DIPS) and none of the three focal disorders in the past.

Exclusion Criteria

•Participants with acute suicidal tendencies
•Participants with acute self-harm
•Participants with substance dependence

State measures of emotion, cognition and disorder-specific pathology before and after the end of the study condition:<br>Self-Assessment Manikin for Arousal and Valence (SAM; Bradley & Lang, 1994), five segregated items from the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS-X; Röcke & Grühn, 2003), scale to assess the extent of worry in relation to the main apprehension (Worry Scale), questionnaire on the extent of goal attainment in Body Checking (Hartmann et al., 2019).<br>Disorder-specific psychopathology: adapted versions of the questionnaires in each case (adaptation of the time criterion to the last three days).<br>Bulimia Nervosa: Body Image State Scale (BISS; Vocks et al., 2007), Eating Disorder Examination-Questionnaire short version (EDE-Q8; Hilbert &Tuschen-Caffier, 2016)<br>Body dysmorphic disorder: Dysmorphic Concern Questionnaire (DCQ; Stangier et al., 2003)<br>Illness Anxiety Disorder: Modified version of the Short Health Anxiety Inventory (mSHAI; Bailer et al., 2013).<br>
