Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age 45\-90 years, unilaterally planned total knee arthroplasty because of degenerative or post\-traumatic knee osteoarthritis, good German understanding, patients of legal age, ability to walk with or without one or two walking sticks for at least 10 minutes preoperative, anesthesia: N.Femoralis catheter.

Exclusion Criteria

  • BMI over 40, relevant cardiac or neurological deficits, pre\-existing general lymphedema, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, renal failure from stage 3, major osteoporosis, rheumatoid knee arthritis, additional tuberositas osteotomy, peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAD) from stage 2b, change in diuretics use after surgery, post thrombotic syndrome, tumors, alcohol or drug abuse, psychological disorders (such as depression).
