Inclusion Criteria
patients who diagnosed acute otitis externa
age older than 18 years
Exclusion Criteria
perforated tympanic membrane on the affected side
dermatitis
acute otitis media
history of receiving antibiotic or steroid in the previous month
malignant otitis externa
severe acute otitis externa (CSS > 10)
history of hypersensitivity reaction to thimerosal, boric acid powder, ofloxacin otic drop, or 10% xylocaine spray
on immunosuppressant
