Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age 9\-35 years.
  • Emmetropic patients with unaided visual acuity 6/6\.
  • Convergence insufficiency symptom survey (CISS) score more than 16\.
  • Receded near point of convergence more than 7\.5 cm.
  • Exophoria at near (4\-prism dioptre greater at near than distance).
  • Insufficient PFV at near (PFV blur / break of more than 15 prism).
  • Willingness to participate in the study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Convergence insufficiency patients previously treated with orthoptic exercise or pencil push\-up exercises.
  • Constant strabismus.
  • History of strabismus surgery.
  • Prior refractive surgery.
  • Vertical phoria \> 1 prism dioptre.
  • Manifest and latent nystagmus.
  • Systemic diseases known to affect accommodation, vergence and ocular motility such as graves thyroid disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis myasthenia gravis
