- •50 male patients diagnosed with alcoholic liver disease will be recruited randomly for the study over a period of 1 year. Diagnosis, medical history, relevant clinical findings and liver function tests will be obtained from the clinical case files. Alcohol consumption related data will be obtained by using AUDIT which is a screening questionnaire for detailed alcohol use history. Controls include thirty age-matched normal, apparently healthy males. CAGE questionnaire will be administered to volunteers to exclude those with problem drinking.
排除标准
- •I.Patients younger than 30 yrs and older than 80 yrs
- •II.Patients with renal disease, smokers, tobacco chewers, on exogenous steroid or suffering from any other systemic illness (infections, malignancies, respiratory diseases) will be excluded.
