Inclusion Criteria

Patients fulfilling American society of Anaesthesiologists grade 1,2

Patients aged between 18 years to 65 years posted for major spine surgeries

Exclusion Criteria

Patients allergic to local anaesthetics

Patients on opioids for chronic pain

Patients who refused to be a part of the study

Patients with impared hepatic and renal function

Patients on calcium channel blockers and magnesium

Patients posted for surgeries with duration greater than 5hours

The study will evaluate the effectiveness of intraoperative intravenous magnesium sulphate on post operative pain in major spine surgeries by comparing NRS scale in post operative period in study groupsTimepoint: The study will evaluate the effectiveness of intraoperative intravenous magnesium sulphate on post operative pain in major spine surgeries by comparing NRS scale in post operative period in study groups at 2hours , 4hours ,6hours,12hours,24hours after emergence from Anaesthesia.
