Individuals who are more than 18 years of age and of Indian origin and has one or more episode of pancreatitis with radiological evidence of pancreatic atrophy and multiple calculi, predominantly in the head region
1) Other forms of chronic pancreatitis
2) Individuals who were already on different forms of vitamin D supplementation in the past 6 months
3) Any chronic diseases known to affect the vitamin D and bone metabolism (chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, long duration glucocorticoid intake, bisphosphonate therapy, smoking, persons who consume more than six cups of coffee per day)
