Inclusion Criteria

1.Physical status ASA I, II, III.

2.Age 18-60 years.

3.Patients undergoing unilevel or consecutive bilevel lower thoracic and lumbar spine surgeries.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patient refusal

2.Any contraindication to spinal anaesthesia

3.Neurological involvement below the involved spine

4.Patients with psychiatric illness

5.Patients requiring conversion to general anaesthesia

6.Hypersensitivity to the drug to be used

7.Body mass index more than thirty five

Primary Outcome Measures

To study the effectiveness of segmental spinal anaesthesia by using Bromage scale and pin prick test to assess the motor and sensory blockade respectively.Timepoint: Sensory and motor blockade assessed till 10 minutes after giving segmental spinal anaesthesia
Secondary Outcome Measures

To study the changes in hemodynamic parameters in the perioperative period. <br/ ><br>To look for adverse effects. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Intraoperative monitoring of blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen saturation, ECG done every 15 minutes till the end of surgery. Post operative follow up for adverse effects like nausea/vomiting, hypotension, post dural puncture headache done till 24hrs after surgery. <br/ ><br>Post operative time of first rescue analgesia also noted
