- •children who were between 12 and 24 months of age at the beginning of the study; all participants had at least four erupted primary teeth and none of the teeth showed signs of non-cavitated or cavitated caries (dmft=0); the parents did not use any prevention of dental caries at home or in other clinics.
- •Exclusion criteria: medical histories of systemic diseases in children; drug allergies; congenital physical disabilities; mental disabilities; dental anomalies.
