Inclusion Criteria
Thirty adult patients with skeletal open configuration and anterior open bite, who required orthodontic maxillary posterior tooth intrusion, were recruited. 1) good general health and oral health with a healthy periodontium, probing depth of 3 mm or less at all teeth and no radiographic evidence of bone loss; 2) absence of anti-inflammatory drug administration in the month preceding the study
Exclusion Criteria
1) pregnancy (women); 2) liver disease; 3) previous experience of orthodontic treatment
