Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •All children between 1 month to 12 years getting hospitalized with Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) as per WHO clinical case definition:
- •1\. Children between ages 1 month to 12 years with the acute onset of fever.
- •2\. Fever should be associated with change in mental status such as confusion, disorientation, coma or inability to talk.
- •3\. And/Or new onset of seizures.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Children who are known cases of epilepsy.
- •2\. Children with previously diagnosed metabolic/genetic disorders.
- •3\. Children who are known cases of febrile seizures.
- •4\. Patients leaving against medical advice (LAMA)/ discharge on request/ absconding.
