Inclusion Criteria

1)Subjects with chronic periodontitis and with minimum 1 site with probing pocket depth of 5-7mm (moderate to deep pocket)

2)Subjects with Controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (Diabetic control will be measured by glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in blood samples) in well controlled diabetic patients, HbA1c levels should be <7.0%

3)Subjects with minimum of 14 teeth present

4)Subject who has given written consent.

Exclusion Criteria

1)Presence of overhanging restoration,

2)Smoking,

3)Pregnant women, & Lactating mother

4)Those who have received antibiotics or any form of periodontal treatment in the previous 3months.
