1.age 18 to 75 years old at the time of diagnosis
2.completed RT course at least 12 months before laboratory testing of thyroid and parathyroid function
3.treating as curative intent including chemotherapy
4.no distant metastasis
5.postoperative RT was allowed unless the operation was involved the thyroid gland
6.planning radiation treatment using 3D-CRT or IMRT/ IGRT with SIB
7.available of back up treatment plans
1.disease extending into hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis or any intracranial involvement
2.radiation field involved pituitary fossa
3.pre-existing thyroid or pituitary disease
4.abnormal thyroid or parathyroid detected from imaging before RT
5.previous thyroid surgery
6.previous RT which RT field might include pituitary gland or lower neck
7.previous iodine radioisotope treatment
8.the patients who were not willing to participate the trial
