Brief Summary

In Ancient Ayurved , Vitiation of the Bhrajak Pitta with Vata, Kapha Dosha and Rakta,Mansa,Meda dhatu get resulted into Twak Vaivarnya i.e. Shwet Varna of the skin. In Modern sciences, Destruction of functional melanocyttes from the epidermis of skin, often overlying hair & mucous Membrane which results into patchy loss of pigmentation & discoloration of skin termed as leucoderma or vitiligo. it is cosmetically distrubing disease, which has major impact on quality of life & psychologically devastating effects on affected individuals. In Ayurveda lots of kalpas & Lepas are described for the treatment of shwitra chikitsa in classic samhitas & texts. Here Savarnakar lepa & shashilekha vati (Astang Hriday chi 20/13 & Yogratnakar Kushta chikitsa 218) are taken to study under the hypothesis H1 that Savarnakar lepa with shashilekha vati is more effective than shashilekha vati in the managment of shwitra. and H0 that Savarnakar lepa with shashilekha vati is as effective as shashilekha vati in the mangement of shwitra. presently selection of the study topic to compare the add on effect of the savarnakar lepa with shshilekha vati with different route of administration to improve treatment modalities.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Prediagnosed patients of shwitra (vitiligo).
  • patients having signs and sympyoms of shwitra.
  • patients of any sex, religion and socio-Economic status.
Exclusion Criteria
  • Shwitra or vitiligo due to Burn.
  • Patients having severe other chronic diseases like Maliganacy, Target organ damage, any genetic syndrome,heart diseases.
