Our data suggest that socket sealing with collagen matrix, collagen membrane exposed to the oral cavity, or autogenous punch graft had no difference in terms of volumetric maintenance and tissue formation in a period of 4 to 6 months.

Inclusion Criteria

18 years-old or above; at least 20 teeth in mouth; satisfactory oral hygiene (plaque index = 25%); tooth with extraction indication in maxillary aesthetic zone (non-molar region); both adjacent teeth for interproximal bone crest maintenance; integrity of the alveolar bone around the tooth (no bone loss in any socket wall) assessed by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and confirmed by post-extraction clinical examination.

Exclusion Criteria

Smokers; patients with self-reported systemic conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes and pregnancy.
