Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients suitable for ambulatory anorectal surgery (EUA and LOF\+/\- seton, hemorrhoidectomy, Sphincterotomy, Intersphincteric abscess drainage, etc)
  • 2\. American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients with chronic backache, spinal deformities, history of prolapsed intervertebral disc
  • 2\. Patients with a known history of allergy to the drugs used in the study
  • 3\. Patients with cardiac disease
  • 4\. Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia
  • 5\. Patients of ASA grade 3,4 \& 5
  • 6\. Obese patient with mouth opening \< 2 fingers or difficult airway
  • 7\. Lack of patientâ??s consent for either technique
  • 8\. Height\- extremely short or tall
