1.Adult patients (18 â?? 60 yr) with an ASA I and II
2.Of either sex,
3.All patients undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia, who will be catheterized after induction,
1.Patients with a history of bladder out�ow obstruction,
2.transurethral resection of prostate for benign prostate hyperplasia,
3.elderly patients (age .60 yr),
4.overactive bladder (frequency: more than three times in the night or more than eight times in 24 h)
5.End-stage renal disease (urine output ,500 ml per 24 h),
6.morbid obesity,
7.disturbance of central nervous system,
8.chemical substance abuse,
9.chronic pain,
10.Chronic analgesic usage.
11.cardiovascular, and hepatic or any psychiatric disease
12.Pregnancy and lactating mothers
