Inclusion Criteria

Patients with established diagnosis of type 2 Daibetes mellitus, clinically relevant Diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, Patients willing to sign informed consent form

Exclusion Criteria

Patients already on treatment of neuropathy of different cause, presence of renal, hepatic or cardiovascular insufficiency, patients with epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension and substance abuse, current/previous diagnosis of psychiatric disorder, pregnant and lactating females, patients taking such drugs for any other disease which are known to cause drug interactions with amitriptyline or gabapentin, patients taking drugs which can cause neuropathy
