Inclusion Criteria

Meeting criteria for alcohol dependence according to the SKID-I interview
- German fluency (spoken and written)

Exclusion Criteria

- Acute suicidality
- Acute danger to others
- Acute self-harm
- Bipolar disorders (current or past episodes)
- Schizophrenic disorders (current or past episodes)
- Current psychotherapy or unwillingness to pause current psychotherapy for the duration of the study (from T1 to T3)
- No motivation for abstinence
- Consumption of addictive substances other than alcohol and nicotine in the past 3 months
- An additional acute comorbid addictive disorder other than alcohol dependence or
Nicotine dependence

The measurements take place at three points in time (T1 = baseline, T2=directly after the intervention (approx. 6 weeks), T3=follow-up after 3 months).<br><br>Metacognitions (MKF-30; Arndt et al., 2011).<br>Positive metacognitions (PAMS; Spada & Wells, 2008).<br>Negative metacognitions (NAMS; Spada & Wells, 2008).
