Inclusion Criteria
Older adults who score below the median on the Life Engagement Test ( < 26; Scheier et al. 2006)
Exclusion Criteria
Unable to participate in a telephone-based intervention due to hearing difficulties, language difficulties, or substantial cognitive impairment.

Name Time Method Any change in score on the Life Engagement Test (Scheier et al., 2006) relative to baseline, and to the control group. Clinical significance indicated by an moderate effect size (d = >.50)[Baseline (pre-intervention), one week and three months post-intervention (primary endpoint) relative to baseline, and to the control group. ]
